WHAT IS FASTING?
Fasting is a deeply rooted spiritual practice where we intentionally set aside our physical needs for a time to focus on God and draw closer to Jesus. By doing so, we shift our reliance from earthly things to God, allowing prayer and scripture to take centre stage. Fasting, paired with prayer and Bible reading, can be a powerful way to deepen your faith and open your heart to God's presence.
WHY FAST?
At the start of each year, we invite our church family to join in a season of prayer and fasting. This is an opportunity to dedicate the year to God, seek His guidance, and align ourselves with His purpose.
Fasting sharpens our awareness of God’s presence and power, strengthens our faith, and opens the door to spiritual breakthroughs. It is a meaningful way to pray for areas such as:

-
A deeper relationship with God
-
Guidance and wisdom
-
Breakthroughs in family, finances, or health
-
Salvation and healing for others

You might also consider regular fasting throughout the year, such as dedicating one day each month or fasting a single meal weekly. Be open to moments when God might call you to fast spontaneously.
HOW TO PREPARE WHAT WILL YOU FAST FROM?
Choose a type of fast that will challenge you spiritually but remains realistic based on your experience and physical needs. Examples include:

-
Full or liquid fast
-
Partial fast
-
Daniel fast
-
Technology fast
-
Social media fast

Whatever you choose, let it free up time and focus to seek God through prayer journaling and Bible study.
